Dear Sponsors,

First of all, thank you so much for the effort to support a child in Nauta in their education, family and overall growth. $18 per month may not seem like much, but here are some excerpts of letters from children:

"I am very happy here and joyful to receive your help and I thank my God because you have trusted me. I don't know how to thank you and give you my many thanks and may God bless you sister. I would be very happy to meet you and give you a big hug giving you thanks and thank you for your help." (Nelson)

"Dear brother and sister in the Lord Jesus Christ. I want to send you a warm greeting in the precious name of our Lord Jesus Christ, hoping that you find yourselves in good health, together with your family. I also want to thank you for your good will, for having accepted, for supporting me so I can continue studying, and this is going to be very helpful to me because my parents and my family have very few resources, because it is so hard to find people like you who are interested in a child's education." (Aron)

"You don't know how much I thank God that he has put you in my path and in my life and that the Lord has touched your heart so that you could say “I want to help this youth with his studies” and that was me" (Junior)

"Thank you for your help, godmother. I am going to study very much and I am learning my vowels. God bless you." (Ruth)

We are meeting with the parents once a month, and the response has been very positive. Thanks to the help of many other willing volunteers, we've touched on topics like Spousal Relationships, Single Parenting, Budgeting, and Children as an Inheritance. I thank God for the amazing people who have presented themselves to share their hard~earned knowledge on topics in which I have little experience, and in such a way that the parents don't feel condescended to, judged or pitied. We truly hope that the need for the program will diminish in the families as they spend more time in the program, and that the help can be passed on to other families on the way.

I confess that there are times when keeping up with the gears that drive the program is overwhelming. There's always so much to be "done," but do pray that we don't lose sight of the goal… lives restored, families edified and God glorified! If you're supporting a child, let me encourage you with the knowledge that the children very much appreciate the help. And they would LOVE to hear from you too! Send me an email and I'll translate it… or write a personal letter if you like and scan it to send to me.

I leave you with a photo of one month's delivery to the kids… backp?acks full of goodies!
