Peru Family Challenge (in Spanish: DESAFIO) is a program designed to work together with local churches toward the betterment of the families as a whole here in Nauta.  

We are offering financial assistance to families who lack the resources needed to send one or more of their children to school, and at the same time working together with the parents through the churches to break the cycles of poverty, destructive generational patterns and low-level education.  We hope to work with the parents or guardians of the children in monthly workshops to teach them about the love of Christ, the ability for God to transform hearts and minds, as well as topics such as money-management, small investments, family relationships, and child-rearing tips.  The parents will in turn receive financial help to enroll their children in a local school, buy them the supplies they need (pens, notebooks, backpack, school uniform, etc.) and have the chance to develop a relationship with a sponsor family through a letter-exchange.

We are excited to see lives transformed through the very practical love of Christ manifested to families here in Nauta... and perhaps one day beyond the borders of this city as well.
